Tourism Sites in Tarakan

Tarakan is one of the city in East Borneo. Tarakan has so many tourism sites. Three of them are Mangrove, Amal Beach, and Bais Hills and Resto. Now, we would like to explain them one by one.

a. Mangrove Forest
Mangrove Forest Mangrove Forest is located in the middle city of Tarakan and near to Gusher Plaza. It has a lot variety of trees and animals. one of the most popular animal in Mangrove is Navalis Javanicus or Bekantan. The characteristic of this animal is has a red big nose and big body. Bekantan also a shy animal, so sometimes tourist can't find them. Now we talk about the trees. One of the popular trees in Mangrove is Bakau, but there's still a lot of another trees there.


b. Amal Beach

Amal Beach is located East Tarakan district. It has two parts, those are "New Amal Beach" and "Old Amal Beach". The most popular for teenagers is "New Amal Beach" because it has more beautiful look than the "Old Amal Beach". Both of them has a special food called "Kapah". It is one of seafood that can be found only in Amal Beach. For the first reader maybe they ask about "what is the difference between "old amal beach" and "new amal beach". Old and new, it is only a term but the difference is in "old amal beach" has made some stone to prevent big wave but not in "new amal beach".


c. Bais Hills and Resto

Word Bais means the symbol of Tarakan city "Bersih, Aman, Indah, Sehat, dan Sejahtera. In this place there are a lot of kind of swimming pools and a lot kind seafood in its restaurants. Such us kepiting soka. Cost of swimming for adults is IDR 25.000 and IDR 15.000 for children.With that cost, you can swim as long as you want but of course it exclude the price of the food. Every Sunday, a lot of visitors come to this tourism place.
